M.I. Gravity

Deliverability & Email Quality Standard

Anti-Spam PolicyAcceptable UseEffective: 21 August 2026

M.I. Gravity's core promise to its merchants is that their email arrives — in the inbox, not the spam folder.

This document is not a formality written for a compliance review. It is the operating code we apply every day, because what is at stake is the reputation of the merchant's own domain: one mishandled list can set their revenue back for months. We enforce these rules for our merchants, not against them.

Measured results

141webshops, each sending from its own authenticated subdomain
25.1 Memails sent over the last 90 days
0.87%hard bounce rate
0.0017%spam complaint rate

Aggregated account-level measurements; last measured August 2026. The industry expectation for complaint rate is below 0.1% — we operate at less than a twentieth of that.

Clean foundations — who we accept as a merchant

High deliverability starts with a quality database. Our platform is open only to vetted e-commerce merchants with a genuine audience of their own.

  • The merchant declares that they use an opted-in list they have emailed before, and that they honour unsubscribes.
  • Sign-up may happen only on the merchant's own webshop, in a message addressed to their own visitors.
  • Before the first campaign we validate and clean the entire imported database. Addresses flagged as risky are never mailed.
  • Merchants with a persistently high share of poor-quality addresses are blocked.

We do not send to purchased, rented or third-party lists. The mandatory onboarding validation is precisely what filters such databases out — and the merchant contractually undertakes not to upload one.

Opt-in and opt-out

Consent here is an active decision, and withdrawing it takes a single action.

  • Sign-up happens on the merchant's webshop through a separate checkbox that is not pre-ticked.
  • We recommend double opt-in but do not mandate it — instead every address is validated before the first send.
  • Unsubscribing is one click: effective immediately, with no confirmation step and no login.
  • An unsubscribe is bound to the sending merchant, and the address is permanently excluded from their future campaigns.

Automated list hygiene

A database is not clean simply because it was clean at import. We carry the burden of ongoing maintenance for our merchants.

  • Real-time suppression: hard bounces and spam complaints are processed immediately, and the address is excluded from that merchant's further sends.
  • Sunset policy: recipients showing no activity for 6 months are unsubscribed automatically.
  • This matters because mailbox providers (Gmail, Yahoo) penalise a dead list — even when the message itself is faultless.

Architecture: full tenant isolation

We serve 141 webshops in complete reputational isolation. This is our most important technical property.

  • Every merchant sends from its own authenticated subdomain, with its own SPF and DKIM records. The mail is authenticated by their domain, not ours.
  • Bounce and unsubscribe suppression lists are isolated per account.
  • Which yields the point that matters: no single merchant's data problem can degrade another webshop's deliverability.

Safety net — what happens when a list does go wrong

We monitor quality continuously, per merchant, at campaign level. If a send crosses the industry thresholds below, a protective procedure starts:

5%bounce rate on a campaign
0.1%complaint rate on a campaign
  • Sending from the affected account is suspended.
  • Every merchant has a dedicated M.I. Gravity account manager; the suspension and the follow-up are their named responsibility — not an anonymous automation's.
  • We investigate the underlying data-quality cause together, and sending resumes only once it is resolved.

This is inconvenient in the short term. In the long term it is the only way a merchant's domain is still treated as trustworthy by Gmail and Microsoft years from now.

Both sides of the agreement

None of the above is a one-sided demand. This is how the responsibility is divided:

What we commit to

  • An authenticated, isolated sending environment for every merchant.
  • Validation and cleaning of the initial database.
  • Automatic handling of bounces, complaints and unsubscribes.
  • Sunsetting inactive recipients after 6 months.
  • Continuous monitoring and a named account manager who raises the alarm.

What we ask of the merchant

  • Use only lists collected on your own webshop with active consent.
  • Never upload purchased, rented or scraped addresses.
  • Write about what the recipient actually signed up for.
  • Keep a reasonable sending cadence — sudden, infrequent bulk sends are a risk in themselves.
  • Work with your account manager when we flag something.

Abuse reports and contact
